Liberating Light is the artistic project of the spouses Luca Bottazzi & Andrea Celeste Righi, it is the fusion of artistic visions. The mind, the hand, the roles exchange and intertwine like the hands that are often recurrent in the images they create. Liberating Light means giving as a gift to a divinity, offering the light to the sky that makes photography possible. But it also has an intrinsic meaning in the couple’s artistic research; Luce (Light) is their daughter as are the works, that is what we talk about when we are to share our vision with others.
Giving light is giving a piece of intimacy to the world. The themes which our projects revolve are related to the cross, monstrances, the suggestion of dreams, the oneiric and the tradition of folk tales such as fairy tales.
“Spirit and matter.
Light and shadow.
Me and you.”

Luca Bottazzi
Born and raised in Bologna in 1988, during his classical studies he developed an interest in everything related to the image, cinema and the great photographers of the last century and contemporaries. In 2014 with some young Italian authors he founded an artistic photographic collective called “Inquadra”, with which he collaborated for a few years before leaving and dedicating himself to personal projects. In 2015 he started working for the new Leica Camera Store in Bologna, and in a few years became Store manager. At the same time he develops artistic photographic projects collaborating with Andrea Celeste (life partner), with whom he has a daughter named Luce. In my photography, as in art in general, I am not looking for answers, but questions, because as the great David Lynch said: “why art should have meaning, when life does not have it.”
Andrea Celeste Righi
Andrea Celeste Righi (Bologna, 1992) began her studies at the Art School of Bologna where she graduated and then continued at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna where she attended the course of Communication and Didactics of Art.
